Yeah so issue 25 is on the shelves of newsagencies around the country today. We'd like to apologise to our kind advertisers and subscribers whose copies haven't arrived yet. Usually it's those peeps who get it first - as it should be tight-asses who haven't subscribed yet - but cause of the stuff-up it's the other way around. We'd like to make a huge formal apology about it, think Rudd, 'Stolen Generations Sorry' cause this shit just ain't right. Here is the email apology from the dude who stuffed us around:
Hi innocent Movement guys who never make any mistakes,
Just an update on the reprint of the section that was faulty. We now completed the reprint and we are folding the section today. Once completed its across to our binding company to complete the binding. Final delivery for the advertiser and subscriber copies will be Friday.
Thanks for understanding in regards to this matter
Cheers
Guy who stuffed everyone around.
So....everyone will get their copies soon and life will continue on in it's fantastic form. Watch the teaser above and we'll get net-man Nick to update the site in the next few days for 25.

These guys are from LA, fully cool dudes who know how to edit well and make cool sites with nice graphics. They did that thing awhile back with 'Beans the Morey kid', answering all these fake press questions. It was the best 'signing' press release we've ever received, in fact, fuck-it, we'll dump it here again for that incredible ingenuity. Anyway, their movie is releasing soon in the US, feels like the first big one in awhile since the NF madness. There's something cool about Americans, they have shows like Laguna Beach and people like James Dean, that's a lot of 'cool' equity to run with there. Also check their website The Clap Theory for some funny shit, whoever styled that blue/ orange suit combo is our hero.
Looking for Beans we found Dre, well, being Dre. Check Dre, being Dre in issue 25, in newsagencies round the fine country today.

HB Bodyboards are proud to announce the signing for young Nelson Bay pocket rocket Mitch Loomes. Mitch joins the Freedom Projekt with some big expectations from highly regarded fellows including Mitch Woodland & Dallas Singer who have these fantastic things to say:
"Mitch is a highly advanced bodyboarder for his age. He will without doubt be a force to be reckoned with in the future. He has a super fluent style and can bust big going either way; a thing that most young guys struggle to achieve." Mitch Woodland
"An advanced style for his age which is well rounded in most conditions. I've seen the majority of top riders of his age in the country and am adamant that Mitch is within a handful of riders, which will, with the support of the industry become a common name among the sports elite in the years to come." Dallas Singer
A young man destined for big things. Welcome to the Freedom Projekt.....

Arica Chilean Challenge final day from Flavio Brito on Vimeo.
The IBA has come along way in our opinion, this event is a nice example of what we think makes a great event. Girls getting autographs, Maccas sponsorships (probably not that important), nicely wrapped heat draw flicks like this with weird tequilia sunrise hip-hop from overseas places, south americans frothing over GT. Heaps of shit. Basically the waves are good and people are winning money for getting pitted. Sure it ain't that much yet but that's not really the point. Like what came first the chicken or the egg? All that shit, you know where we're coming from... don't leave us hanging out here.

Closing Down "LAST EVER" Custom Board Offer
Today is a very sad day in the life of Funkshen Bodyboards.
After careful consideration and lots of sleepless nights, Funkshen has finally succumbed to the viscous overseas manufacturing market and has decided to close its doors. We simply can not compete with the offshore manufacturers and good materials are becoming harder to source. This decision has been thought out and we wanted to give you guys the last chance to get your hands on a custom Funkshen Bodyboard.
As a token of our appreciation for your support over the last 9 years, Funkshen is offering you an opportunity to be the proud owner of the last Dave "Tully" Tulloch shaped Funkshen Custom Bodyboard.
These boards will become a collector's item, so buy one for now and a couple for under your bed for the time when you need a spare. There is a limited amount of core materials available so don't wait around.....order so you don't miss out.
Place your board order by close of business Friday 29th August 2008. A deposit of 50% will be required at time of order and discounts will apply for buying more than one board.

PE Boards all inclusive of board features, colours, logo's, etc $300
By 2 or more boards and get an extra 10% off these prices.

Pick ups welcome as usual.
Boards will then be made and shipped to you within 2 weeks. Once these boards are gone, the factory will be closing it's doors.
We also have a limited amount of T-shirts and accessories available. Give us a call at the factory to check if we have your size.
Personally, I would like to thank each and every customer who has helped me to be able to create bodyboards and enjoy coming to work every day in an industry I am passionate about. Funkshen has been a huge achievement for everyone involved and this dream would not have been possible if you guys didn't support me and our industry. There has been some personal issues that have put pressure on my involvement in Funkshen as owner and head shaper. In December I will be the proud dad to a new baby boy! This new chapter in my life is exciting and I am looking forward to my new job as a dad.
Thanks again guys and I will see you in the water soon!
Best Regards
Dave "Tully" Tulloch

(Knights Beach, South Australia - Monday, August 11 2008): The third annual Redback bodyboarding Pro presented by NAB returns to the Knights wedge September 6th and 7, for round eight of the 2008 Human Australasian Pro Tour.
The Redback Pro is the second to last event in 2008, which concludes the following week at the Human Port Macquarie Pro. The Redback, along with the Port Mac Pro, are the highest rated men’s events on the tour making them crucial for competitors looking to win the 2008 pro tour.
The two-day event has in the past seen some of Australasia’s best bodyboarders in town with previous winners including the likes of Corey McLean (QLD) and former Pipeline champion Andrew Lester (NSW).
With the event growing tenfold in size since its humble beginnings in 2006, IBA Australasia general manager Terry McKenna said he expects some of the world’s top riders Mitch Rawlins and Dave Winchester at the event.
“Both Mitch and Dave have told me that they will be foregoing world tour commitments in Europe to compete in the final stages of the Human Pro Tour”. McKenna said.
The first two years of the Redback Pro were greeted with epic surf conditions and contest organiser Tim Doman from Surfing South Australia is hoping to continue the good run of waves.
“The Redback Pro has a very good reputation on tour as a quality wave venue, which it is, so lets hope that all things combine for another pumping event” Tim said.
The action kicks of on Saturday the 6th of September, with the event to be streamed live via swellnet.com.au.

Here is a sneek peek at the new PRIDE COMBO 909.....Unique contours. PRIDE 09 boards have hit the water and are going to be available by the first week of September.
The range also includes a brand new CADE SHARP model which will be available in PE & PP.

Simply put, FIRE is a revolutionary surf film which explains - without words - Mike Stewart's view of the life. Created by Mike and Scotty Carter over ten years, it's the only Mike Stewart film to ever be released over his twenty-something year career. We were so excited about the project that we contacted Scotty and Mike a year ago to get on board and are now honoured to be sharing poster space with this thing. Movement 25 will be on shelf in a week or two and will feature a profile on the movie along with the dates and locations in print. Get to these outlets and get your ticket, locations will sell out fast with only 300 on offer. If you're a bodyboarder or waverider of any kind for that matter, this is one thing you shouldn't miss.

Mike Stewart Science is proud to announce that it has resigned exuberant phenom Thomas Robinson to the label for another year
Thomas has been on fire this past year and continues to blow doors in the line-ups around his new home of the south coast. He has been shooting a stack of footage around Australia for upcoming films “Thrash” and “Hello”, which he will feature heavily in, not to mention being in the firing line of many of the top photographers lenses in his travels.
Science Brand manager Chris Apps said “ We are stoked that Thomas has signed on to ride for the brand again as we believe that he is arguably one of the best riders in the world today not only that he also oozes style and personality out of the water, a trait many other riders are lacking in this day and age.
“I am stoked to continue riding for Science, the products are second to none and the brand is constantly moving forward with design and innovation. Everything I’ve achieved in bodyboarding has been branded with Science in some way. We've got a good thing going on and it is only getting stronger, I’m amped for the year ahead” Thomas said.

DKS TIONA AND PORT MAC WINNER BUD MIYAMOTO. Pic Ash Murray
Hawaiian Bud Miyamoto has taken a memorable win in this year’s Sundowner DKS Port Mac event. Bud stormed through all of his heats and into the final collecting a perfect 10 along the way. Bud also created history for not only the Sundowner DKS Tiona event, but also the Sundowner DKS Port Mac event by not dropping a single heat and taking the honors this year as DKS Champion infront of another world class field including 2x DKS winner Mason Rose.
Along with Bud’s crazy feat, DKS witnessed one of the closest heats in the quarter finals with Jake Sharp, Mason Rose along with Bud all scoring perfect 10’s in the same heat! But with only 2 scoring waves it came down to breaking apart the 3 riders by less then a point, which was just devastating for Jake Sharp who missed out on progressing through the heat. Other notable heats saw the return of one of the pioneers of DK in Australia, Aaron “changa” Matthews making a huge impact for the first few heats along with Adam Murray who just run out of steam in the semis. Queensland’s Dane Pope secured his second DKS final in a row, after some solid early heats, picking up a 3rd place for his efforts and young gun Keegan Cronin placing 4th in his first ever DKS final.
“This has been one of the craziest DKS events in the 7 years of contest and it just shows the quality of the riders we are attracting to this event” organizer Clayton Pickworth said. “I pretty much had everyone come up to me and say how much they enjoyed watching the guys surf and how crazy the moves are getting now the competition is becoming so fierce” Pickworth said. “plus I heard someone say that Bud pulled a air reverse in his quarter final so he is really stepping it up”. “It also kept the judges busy this year and head judge Maurice Wakeling mentioned to me that it was doing his head in seeing how good the quality was, so that’s really pleasing for me” Pickworth said.
The presentation was unreal with DJ Maths and the BBoys busting out after the results were done then everyone just got loose! But as per usual we have to finish up by thanking so many great supporters of these events and they are Sundowner Holidays, Turbo Surf Designs, BSC, Liquid Malisha, Quantum Assessments, No*Clones, the PMBA Club and the Hastings Old Holdens who supplied their classic old cars for the free taxi service. Anyone else who just lent a hand or made things happen thanks heaps!!
The final results
1st Bud Miyamoto (HAW)
2nd Mason Rose (NSW)
3rd Dane Pope (QLD)
4th Keegan Cronin (NSW)
Until next year…..dk4life

If being a great big wave surfer is the ability to stay alive while looking good in the heaviest of situations then Mitch Rawlins must now be considered amongst the best in the world. We’ve always known him as the stylish and innovative freesurfer but ever since a particular Shipsterns session two years ago his heavy wave riding has been as good as anyone’s. His move to WA is now a masterstroke as the tight pack of riders he’s been running with enjoy free reign over the latest big wave discoveries and earn the envy of the surfing world in the process. Click the link where we talked-turkey with Mitch over his latest session.
