So another Mason clip. Are you sick of this guy yet? We are, but this clip is good, so whaddya do? Seems since we mentioned it in issue 16 he's had about 20,000 hits too, although you could assume that 19,000 were from Mase, 1,000 is still a good amount of hits. Also check the Movement spreads the man has inserted too, what a good supporter.

The worlds best female bodyboarders hit the water in the early hours of the morning with clean and glassy 1 metre conditions on the Gold Coast.
The Quarter finals where a zig zag affair as a huge shock elimination went to the Gold Coast local Kira Llewellyn with an unfortunate lost flipper breaking her heat strategy. Neymara Carvalho from Brazil was in sensational form - blitzing her Quarter final with style. Other competitors finding form in the clean conditions were Aoi Koike & Moe Watanabe from Japan boosting clean big rolls on the outside banks with great form by Mandy Zieran from Australia who recently recovered from a shoulder operation.
In the four people semis there was a shock elimination for current world champion Marina Taylor from the Canary Islands who couldn't find two high scoring rides to progress. As the contest came down to the 1 on 1 semi finals we were witness to some brilliant small wave bodyboarding. Neymara extended her early form with a wave straight out of the blocks, from the get go Mandy was on the Back foot and couldn't find waves to match.
The other Semi final was a tight affair with strong momentum for Stephanie Pettersen coming with two amazing heats previously. Lilly Pollard (NSW - Aust) hit back after two of Stephanies rides with a huge 9.1, one of the highest scores of the contest. Lilly then went on to consolidate with another strong ride that moved her infront and into the final.
The Final was a blaze of big rolls and spins with Neymara and Lilly going wave for wave. In the end a big boost from Neymara put her infront with Lilly needing a huge 7.4 to win, time was the enemy for Lilly and Neymara waited anxiously out the back in the final seconds. After all the pressure of the final seconds, Neymara was stoked with the win and was greeted with huge celebrations on the sand. The Ingles Pro for 2007 wrapped up on the beach with hundreds gathered around for a thankful and humbled speech by the happy Brazilian.
The organisers would like to thank Graeme Ingles and the Ingles Group for supporting the event for the third year, they'd also like to thank Billy's Beach House for the after party and also a big thanks to Bodyboardshop.com for thier massive support, along with Swellnet.com, Troy Swimwear, Wild Orchid Fashion, The Event Truck, 102.9 Hot tomato FM, Unique Bodyboards and all the crew at Surfers Paradise Management.
The Organisers would finally like to thank all the judges, officials, the work crew and most importantly all the spectators and competitors who all came from all over the world to see and be part of this fantastic even

Today is ANZAC day in Oz. A day where we remember the ones who served in the Defence Force, so we're able to live the good life back here. Above is a clip by the Herd an Ozzie Hip Hop group from Sydney which covers Redgum's 1975 anti-Vietnam song. Take a look a give a minute for all those young lads and lasses like you, who died in some god-forsaken moment of war for us. Lest we forget.

This is a movie sent from a guy Nico who does Kameah in France. The flim features our French homies, Amaury Lavergne and Thomas Richard surfing in Reunion Island, cut to a drum and bass soundtrack. This little piece of work won an award too, so it must be good.

Nomad Bodyboards is proud to announce the formation of its new team initiative, the Nomad F.S.D. (Free Surf Division).
Over the past 7 years Nomad has prided itself on working with some of Australia’s brightest talent. 2007’s line up is no different.
Nomad F.S.D. members include some of the worlds most respected riders:
Chris James – Chris embodies the nomad lifestyle, with the determination and vision to continually search for the uncrowded dredging wave on the horizon.
Matt Lackey – Lackey needs no introduction. Arguably the worlds most photographed bodyboarder and the undisputed face of modern day DK in Australia.
Glen Thurston – Thurston, with the enthusiasm of a hardcore grom trapped inside a Pro riders body, is making a name for himself for his technical free-surfing.
Jake Stone – Stone, the up-and-coming prodigy from QLD that will soon be the name on everyone’s lips.
All riders are regarded as pushing the boundaries of bodyboarding in their own style.
The Nomad F.S.D. has been established to allow our collective of riders an opportunity to not only provide their expertise on product design and development, but to also provide a program to launch projects of their own creation. The first project to move in to production is a film to be co-produced, shot and edited in association with film director Bryce Thurston, titled “ROAM”.
The Nomad F.S.D. “ROAM” film project has already captured sessions in perfect South Coast solitude, and also an epic session filmed by helicopter at an undisclosed wave making the project one of the most anticipated films of the year.
Chris James said of the project, “No other bodyboard manufacturer has ever launched a project like this. The Nomad guys are bodyboarders and they have a strong initiative and firm vision of how they want bodyboarding to be portrayed. With the team they have put together and having an amazing filmmaker like Bryce on board you’re going to see bodyboarding at its most amazing”.
The Nomad F.S.D. will influence all facets of the Nomad product range, which will be evident in our winter clothing line that is released this week, and most importantly, our 2007 / 2008 Bodyboard range that include new season models from Chris James, Glen Thurston and Matt Lackey, as well as the new FSD Ultimate model.
You too can be part of the Nomad F.S.D. and help assist us shape our projects by joining the Nomad network now at www.nomad.com.au or our MySpace site at www.myspace.com/nomadbodyboards to keep updated with exclusive footage, giveaways, promos, surveys, premieres, and all news Nomad F.S.D. style.

Our good mate Goldy emailed us about his goals of setting a bodyboard club within the Australian Defence Force. If any of you crew are serving members of the ADF hit up Goldy with an email. Basically it means you guys get grants to travel and the like. Goldy's details are:
LAC William Gold
76 SQN ATECH
PH: (02) 496 46439
RAAF BASE WILLIAMTOWN (Newcastle)
william.gold@defence.gov.au
The idea so far is to get numbers together to form a Club and Committee for Air Force Bodyboarding based here in Newcastle. From there prompting other riders in the Army and Navy to do the same, and eventually work together to form an Australian wide Defence Force Competition!
I know its possible because the Australian Defence Force Sports Council is currently in the process of approving the same for the Surfers, its just numbers that we lack. Any interest would be welcome, whether its companies willing to help out or just support from the general public.

Cool stop-motion flick by a kid named Adrian on myspace. On that note some random trivia, did you know that Max Arent-Highfield's father is a puppeteer, yes just like that dude in 'Being John Malkovich'. He isn't weird though.

Lackey won't shut up about the pictured guy from QLD, 16 year old Dylan. Apparently this guy was like a full shred-dog boardrider, who got a whiff of the boogs and never looked back. Lackey is like on and on about this guy, it's like f*%k Lackey stop talking this dude up and send us something so we can expose him. After all, with these apparent skills the guy should be able to whore himself like Lackey for spono coin and groupies. So here is an air-drop framie of Dylan, courtesy of the guys who made the DVD Australian Made and look out for the man in an upcoming Movement.

ELECTRIC AVENUE FESTIVAL is set to come alive for the first time this year on the Sunshine Coast. The electro festival is being organised by some friends of ours who are set to turn saviours for a place so packed with trendy kids but until now so void of any festival fun. They've already announced some impressive acts on their first ever billing too. Bliss'n'Esso will headline alongside the likes of Riot In Belgium and the Stafford Brothers, plus we've been assured of a few more announcements to be made in the months leading up. Electric Avenue Festival will run on Saturday, June 23 and tickets are on sale now. For more info check their myspace page (www.myspace.com/electricavenuefestival).

Joshua - the work experience kid on the post before - showed us this clip of Newport Wedge in California, a spot featured in our Bang spread last issue. Josh reckons: 'it's pretty heavy, I can't believe people are bodyboarding it, I'd fully drown out there' before he quizzed us on holding your breath longer. It may be old footage but it's still turning heads.

We get a few of work experience groms in here. They hang out, check the mail for us and teach us how to do net stuff. This is the guy for the week, Joshua. Hasn't really said much, just hangs out archiving photos, smirks at a few comments here and there, then leaves at four without a trace. Hopefully this geeky photo of him uploaded to the net gets him talking.

How shit are rumours? It's all he said, she said, blah blah, your chick's a slut, whatever. We had this most henious thing emailed to us today. It was that Jeff Hubbard had broken his back in QLD and would never surf again. We had fricken heart pulputations, the room was spinning. Then the timely April Fools thought came into our heads and sure enough it was a joke, for f&@ks sake. Anyway check the image above and make some rumours about the next issue homies.
