Yallingup, Western Australia: Creatures Bodyboarding are pleased to announce the re signing of arguably the Worlds Best Drop Knee Rider, Matt Lackey for a further 2 years. The contract extension continues the long standing relationship between Matt and leading International Surf Accessories brand Creatures of Leisure.
The new deal for Lackey will see him riding for Creatures Bodyboarding until at least 2009. 2006 again saw Matt voted as the Worlds Best Drop Knee Rider in the Riptide Peer Poll and he was onboard for the 2006 Riptide Experiment as voted by the readers and wider bodyboard community. Lackey said “I’m really happy to keep things going with Creatures. My signature leash they made for me is amazing, the strongest and most comfortable leash out the for sure”. Lackey has just returned from a trip to the Cook Islands and quickly put pen to paper before jetting to Hawaii for the North Shore winter until late January before he heads back to Brazil to work with leading photographers and film makers to capture more free surfing sessions.
Creatures Team Manager, Shaun Wright, said “It’s great to have Lackey re sign again. We have been working together for a few years now with Matt using his feedback and expertise to produce the best Bodyboard products in the world. The guy is mind blowing in the water and a great role model for any aspiring kids out there”.

YouTube is the latest phenomena to hit the internet scene. With its vast array of videos, ranging from old men dancing to young chicks rap-battling you can get lost in it's obscure content for days. Fortunately it also houses many underground bodyboarding clips, so here is some our favourite ol' school flicks for your viewing pleasure.

Thats right folks, issue 15 is just about on the shelves and we welcome you to the summer of contradictions. In our special report we buck an old trend to give props to the IBA. They're a fine group of gents who've done a lot with a little and received even less in return. The world tour is now growing big and strong, hosting a tour schedule the pros are looking forward to not making excuses for. On the other side, we profile two guys who've had very little regard for contest results. Spencer Skipper has a style that's made him the envy of the bodyboarding world, revered as champ without the constraints of a contest guernsey. Max Arent-Highfield is part of the new-gen who value publicity over the local comp scene, building his profile through the mags and vids. Joel Taylor takes some time out from his burgeoning empire to pen some lessons while Jose Marquina kicks open the doors to bodyboarding's future. The Central Coast Gang, Kyle Maligro and more big shots than a boardroom meeting. We're predicting a cool change this summer.
