Hey Fellas,

So here is the new site so far. We have some rad crap coming in the next couple of days; from revamping the shop to having a interactive page for riders of the movement. Basically the movement site is in development and it will be damn cool once it is done.

Celebrity Universe??

Hello people,

Yes my friends, the title says it all...
The city is a great venue to see massive celebs aimlessly parading the streets. With Coca Cola's very own singing superstar Kamal being sighted yesterday, i thought it couldn't be topped. But there is always room for more excitement, with "That Guy" from the 'Secret life of Us' & 'Ned Kelly' casually strolling into the local cafe' this morning and asking, "Oi, have You's Got a Toilet around 'ERE?".
Yes, It's a hectic life in Movement HQ, with each day breeding more craziness & creativity from all the workers.
So, people, keep riding stylishy and you too will one day grace the glossy pages of Movement Magazine.

From The Work Experience Kid,
JOHN

Im the Work Experience Kid

Hi, this is Movements new work experience kid, John.
Well, this is the fourth day of my movement experience, and i have to say that it's been quite an experience.
In between realising that Ben has a serious case of A.D.D induced by a coffee addiction, I've learnt how (although laidback) hectic being in the Movement Headquarters can be. But, with Ben punching the numbers for the adverts and Bannister coming up with story ideas, the mag seems to run smoothly.

HUMAN SHARK ISLAND CHALLENGE ROUND ONE

The first round of the Human Cronulla Shark Island Challenge ran today in perfect 6-8 feet conditions, all 8 heats were ran with the new introduced format, eliminating half of the International field straight up, with only the top two positions progressing through to the next round.

For the first time in the event history the format has been over hauled. For the past years the riders have been judged on their best two waves from each heat with the rider accumulating the highest score from two rounds deemed the winner. For 2005 the format will be elimination. For the first round, only the top 2 riders from a heat of four will progress straight to the quarter finals. First round will be eight heats of four, with 16 progressing to quarter finals on day two of competition. This will set day two of the event as one of the most exciting days ever as for the first time the CSIC winner will be announced on the headland.

Today saw Cronulla Point lined with over 2,000 spectators, not to mention the couple hundred of spectators watching the event from the water. Stands out during the day were, Cronulla local Andrew Lester, Brazilian Guilherme Tamega, Australian’s Ben Player, Nick Ormerod, Christian Riguccini, Dave Ballard and Brae Pettiford.

2x World Champion and event favourite, Australian Damian King was eliminated after his final wave that he caught was scored after the hooter. King suffered a serve cut to his heal receiving several stiches which will see him out for the next few weeks . “ I caught a couple of good waves in my heat” king explained. “On one of my waves I was driven into the reef so hard in which my heal just opened up which required stitching. I tried to get one last wave that would have got me through to the quarter finals but the hooter just beat me to it.”

The event is the regarded as the mot prestigious event on the International Bodyboarding Associations Mens World tour calendar with the winners cheque being $20,000 AUD, the riches first prize cheque in the sport history. Organisers are looking at completing the event next weekend when a predicted increase in waves height is forecasted.
