And they sung his name
Photo courtesy of ibaworldtour.com He was the most
consistent surfer of the year and a justified winner. His aerial moves continue
to progress the sport but the rest of his act, so long overshadowed by
towering leaps, is watertight. Movement: Now the
champagne spray has settled, how do you assess your individual performances on
this year's tour? Jeff Hubbard: I
was okay with most every heat I surfed except for my Pipe heats and my Chile
semi. I had some heavy heats all year so it is an awesome feeling to come out number
one at the end Movement: Did the
conditions in the Canary Islands help or hinder your chances of winning? Jeff Hubbard: I
guess it must have helped since I came home with the title Movement: What was
the single best piece of competitive surfing you witnessed this year? Jeff Hubbard: My
brother’s semi-final in Chile verses me. Movement: What was
the biggest competitive lesson you learned this year? Jeff Hubbard: Don't
stop surfing Movement: Two
titles, you driving for more? Jeff Hubbard: I feel that I will always be trying
to improve and push myself further either in freesurfs or heats. I love what
I do and live bodyboarding
