IBA World Tour Arica Chile Live

The second of four IBA Grand Slam events gets underway in Chile in coming hours at the Arica Chilean Challenge.

Since 2004 Arica Chilean Challenge has been part of the World Qualifying Tour and demonstrated that is was worthy of inclusion to the World Super Tour. In 2006 the best bodyboarders of the world came to Arica and they confirmed that EL GRINGO is one of the best spots for bodyboarding. This spot is located in the Alacran Island (Isla del Alacrán) in front of El Morro.
 
News is the weather has been nice this year, with warm, sunny conditions and positive winds.
 
"I invite to all the people to watch this event by internet and to riders to be prepare for this unreal challenge," said event organizer Cristian 'Tomate' Peralta.

Hubb Wins In Peru

Hubb wins the first Peruvian event on the IBA, outing local Hurtado in the man on man final. Conditions were unfortunately super onshore for the final. More highlights from the event to follow.

Wolfmother Touring A Cosmic Egg

Wolfmother come fresh off a jetplane from Los Angeles, beholding a weighty behemoth of a 2nd record, Cosmic Egg, in their palms, and more ready than ever to tear open the minds of the masses and let their newfound magic and melody medicine swim within.

The now 4 piece will take a lap of Australia to reveal the contents of their new wonderbeast, showcasing a mostly new suite of Wolfmother material, with a healthy handful of their marvellous self-titled debut thrown in. The tour will kick off at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Thursday September 17 and wrap up on Saturday September 26 in Frankston, Victoria, stopping in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne in between.

Cosmic Egg was recorded over a 2-month period in Los Angeles with heralded UK producer Alan Moulder. A record that’s at once a darker shade of night at one end of the sonic spectrum and a euphoric light of day at the other, it’s one that’s set to translate to a life affirming live experience.

Supports for the tour come in the shape of fresh-faced Brisbane rockers Yves Klein Blue and recent Australian Music Prize winner, Sydney troubadour Jack Ladder.

Tickets go on-sale Friday Jul 17, and each ticket sold will grant the bearer a free introductory membership into the new Wolfmother official fanclub, The Wolfies.
