Stone in Chile

Posted Thursday, May 20, 2010

It’s ironic that it’s taken Dave Winchester until he moves to the remote regions of the South Coast before he joins the status quo, affixing dot com to his name. Or maybe it’s not. Maybe the traffic free roads, empty reef breaks and limited domestic distractions are the ideal place for us to achieve our goals. Anyway, while you ponder the purpose of modern existence stare at this clip of Stone demonstrating the kind of diverse talent that would make him easy to hate.

Posted by: Imran gilligan 13-May-2010 05:10 PM if todd barnes edited it the entire thing be would be in slow motion Agreed, thrashed was a huge letdown. I ended up just turning it off it was that boring, way to much slowmo and replay... and the soundtrack was terrible. Other than that Thurston is an awesome guy and a great rider. Whats with all the hate? Where is the love? Lighten up.
Posted by: adasd@asad.com
14-May-2010 02:40 PM
slow mo makes everything more visually appealing (obviously not for the whole entire movie, and that is exactly what thrash'd doesn't do, I thought the slow mo was perfectly proportioned and not overly used) you notice things you wouldn't notice in normal motion (the technicality of the riding shown in the movie). also, how could you possibly say the soundtrack to thrash'd was terrible. I bet you are either sell Jonas Brothers albums on eBay for a living and think they are musical genius or you are a lobotomy patient.

Oh the Jealousy! the funny thing is, ask your girlfriend what she thinks of Glen, Im sure she would be sucking him off and coping anal given half the chance...meanwhile you dumb fucks are on the internet writing him off!!! Now given the fact that glen could fuck your chick, the worste part is he could then turn around and beat the shit out of you!! Personally i think hes a bit over the top, but im not going to write him off because hes built like a fucking greek god!!!!fuck! im jelious too!!!

14-May-2010 08:33 PM
I think it is so hilarious how many people take stabs at someone for looking after their body and representing the body for how it was designed to look! Sure people are entitled to their own opinions but cutting someone down because he stands out isnt cool. Look outside of your small world and you will see outside of your little sport that normal people aspire to look good and be fit. There is nothing weird about that at all!!! I dont know anyone on these forums and personally I dont really want to as I think sitting on your chair all day whilst watching cheap porn, beating yourself off cause your to ugly to have someone do it for you and making sly/ Pissweak writeoffs at people who are actually doing something with their life is quite pathetic. If I was writing to normal humans on here the majority would agree but because the majority of people I am writing to hear are useless morons that have nothing better to do with their life I already know I am waisting my time. Secondly how dare anyone write off Todd Barnes or the Movement Tv crew. These guys are some of if not the best in the industry and are amazing at what they do. This trailer is shot extremely well has a cool theme and amazing vibe. The song goes great with the music and leaves you satisfied. Excellent work to Mitch Pain and Liam Obrien. If anyone making stabs could do any better you would be out there doing it! So put down your crisps and soda slide up out of your filthy chair and go do something better than this with your life. I dare you. Lastly Pence is built like a greek God and yes he does stand out, and I can happily say I would rather be lable to confidently ride 10ft ++ waves of consequence and pull off in the channel with less effort than it takes you to raise your greasy fingers and write back to this comment on your slimy keybard than look like YOU! Wake up.

Creatine ad just proves how uneducated these forum posters are. Firstly Glen would never swear and secondly he would never write in this context thirdly hey gets along with everyone and I know he wouldnt speak like myslef. Have you ever thought that maybe its not Glen but the photographers and filmers that use him for his unique look. He is asked to partake in these films and photoshoots. Dont cry because you wernt invited.

Insight's a douche trying to sound old and intelligent. Chris James, Jas' Finlay etc etc etc all have rigs. As professional sportspeople Glen doesn't have a unique look except that it's the way he portrays himself and exhibits himself. You don't see the other guys flexing in everything although since Chris has been using Glen's workout routine he's also turned into a bit of a poser hence my point. Insight, if you're going to try and sound superior in the intellectual department you might want to do some spelling and grammar checks before posting. If you're wasting your time writing to useless morons then why write the longest posts of anyone??? Criticism leads to improvements in stuff that is released to the public. Anyway, while us morons are wanking off to chicks in porn you can have a bat over the clips of your finely crafted Greek God, the almighty "Pence".

The scaffolding has been shackled, the banners lanced and the professionals have downed the last of the sangria before their date with El Gringo’s feared end section that annually claims at least one big scalp (or knee cap, elbow or other vital anatomical component). Here is where you can get the updates.

Science Customs Design Challenge

Posted Monday, May 10, 2010

The guru, shot last week in the Movement office. We recorded a series of interviews that will shortly be posted online where Mike discusses Pipeline, the next generation, respect and why you’ll come off sounding like you’re on acid if you try to describe the awesomeness of wave riding to someone who has never experienced it.

The Science Customs Design Challenge is an open call for all artists, from the school book to the canvas, to create a custom slick design and share it with the bodyboarding community. The Challenge will run until June 30 with a major prize to be selected by MS and Al Taylor on July 12. Additional prizes will be awarded via community voting on vote.sciencecustoms.com.

First place, selected by Mike and Al:

Science Custom board adorned with your winning design, a Science boardbag and a Gyroll leash.

First place, selected by online voters:
Science Custom board with the winning design, a Science boardbag and a Gyroll leash.

Second and third places, selected by online voters:
$75 and $50 gift certificate to Science Customs

The Challenge has been designed to showcase a breakthrough in board design technology allowing Science Customs to apply custom artwork to your board. All art is permanently applied, will not scratch or fade and unlike other board graphics, the artwork is created specifically for your custom board.

The Jackson Live

Posted Friday, May 07, 2010

Soak The Sponge, despite a questionable name, is bodyboarding’s only dedicated television program and one we must unite in support of. Even racist morons have their own show (Hey Hey It’s Saturday, which despite the rather descriptive title they also get to watch on a Wednesday) so our time must surely be now. After premiering a pilot on Fuel last year it seems the WA-based production team are preparing to announce a full run.

Movement: Received a bunch of shots from The Right recently, some we'll be running next issue, does the place offer new challenges for you each time you surf it?
Chad Jackson: Yeah mate, for sure, it seems at the moment all the boys are in a battle for the biggest wave out there. No one is showing any fear and personally I’m more than comfortable to take on anything the place can throw at me. Before now I think Hughes had the biggest one out there which you guys ran as a poster a while back but I’m pretty sure I over took him with the one I got lucky with the other day. The battle continues though.

MM: At that size, is it a reality that someone will get very hurt out there, or has the fear factor reduced since the first session?
CJ: The fear factor is still there, I mean that’s the whole reason we do it. Without fear and consequences where would the rush and the adrenalin be? The chance of someone getting hurt is never a thing we talk about but are always prepared for. You've got to trust the guy you’re towing with and that trust makes thing a whole lot less stressful.

MM: Are you heading to South America for the World Tour?
CJ: Myself and Hughes have both pulled off the World Tour this year to work on other more lucrative projects for ourselves and bodyboarding as a whole. We've been surfing and tripping around non-stop lately, which has been a little hard for me without a sponsor but I’m determined to make this thing work. The trips we have done lately have been amongst the best I've done in my life so will come out looking phenomenal.

MM: Can you detail for us?
CJ: Well the current project we are working on is the follow up on our Fuel TV show, Soak the Sponge. We've had so much positive feedback and the viewer stats were through the roof for a show that received little to no advertising. Our plan is to bring out a series at the end of this year, most probably November, which will air constantly on Fuel. It will still be called Soak the Sponge and star both Brad and myself and I've never been so pumped to be working on a project we can call our own

Dont Stop Dreaming bodyboarding DVD was aired on Fuel TV as well as Extreme Sports across EU. Second one is being worked on at the moment...problem is the people who make the DVDs cut things so cheap and stop the movies from getting aired on any TV stations which is sad...common sense when making DVDs can take bodyboarding pretty far...
