Jase Finlay Nails The Young Mike Look On Morey Boogie

Posted Thursday, July 16, 2009

Jason above, looking a hell of a lot like a young Mike Stewart with the taught adam's apple and five o'clock shadow.

Below, Morey Press Release: Jason Finlay signs.

Jason Finlay is an incredible bodyboarder, a natural talent with a love for hitting big air sections that would send most seasoned professionals packing and from here on in Jason will be hunting down those looming sections on a Morey Bodyboard.. This past year has seen Jason burst onto the scene with jaw dropping performances at some of the best waves the world has to offer. His commitment to rising up the ranks and representing bodyboarding at it's finest have seen Jason go from one of the most underrated bodyboarders to one of the most respected up and coming riders.

Jason’s hunger and drive to succeed has never been stronger so he fits in perfectly with Morey’s quest of reestablishing itself as the dominant board company in the market, which so far has been a very successful journey. With his natural athleticism and relentless determination Jason is going to dominate in 2009 on Morey Bodyboards.

I am thriving on the possibility of pushing my ability to its limits and now that I can further my reputation as both a technical rider and a big wave bodyboarder on Morey Bodyboards.

This year I want to blow minds. I want to ride the biggest waves there are, and I want to do the biggest airs ever seen. I have put the time in and these goals are totally achievable for me, and I know now with the right support from Morey, I can make it happen.

Further strengthening Morey; the company that produced the first bodyboards is the re-signing of the fast living Alex Bunting. Bunt’s profile is riding a great high with his current success of nailing the cover of Riptide’s 20th anniversary issue and relentless work towards his feature part in the upcoming I Am None film Thrash’d. He has put the work in and is in a great position to showcase his widely respected and admired skills in the surf. “This year is blitzing by…with my only focus being bodyboarding, shooting and filming as many good waves as possible and having a hell of a good and loose time in between. I couldn’t be more stoked to sign on again with Morey. To me it’s important to be aligned with a company not just because of their well respected name; but that the products they produce are the best and the image they project are relevant to what people like. Along with all my sponsor’s Morey is the best board company to suit where I am right now with my life and bodyboarding career.”

Bunts and Bones, from their weird and wild gridiron football victory at Funzone. Check this link for the video story.

Can anyone shed some light on why these I Am None guys are all wearing the same tiger shirt? Has branding gone too far?

Pride Signs Zoolander, Nick Perry

Posted Thursday, July 16, 2009

Pride Bodyboards would like to announce the signing of northern beaches local and 'really, really, really good looking' Nick Perry. Commonly known as 'Pedro Linguisey', Nick has been on a mission this winter up and down the coast. Competing on the Aussie Tour as well as clocking up the frequent flyers chasing swells. We got a few quick words off the man after an epic session down the South Coast.

'I have been riding the new boards for the last 3 weeks down the south coast and I was blown away! The ride and quality far surpassed my expectations! Pedro joins one of the strongest youth teams in Australia with the likes of Sam Bennett, Mitch Woodland, Cade Sharp, Ben Veitch, Shaun Pyne and Jimmy Williamson. 'I am stoked to be involved with Pride, the team of riders has so many different personalities and they are all in it to push the sport as far as it can go - coupled with the support behind them - yeah, I am stoked! These guys will be the future, no doubt.'

Judging by the sponsors and teaser it looks like much of this is filmed at Hemsedal Norway. It'd be cool if they have some good pow sections as well. Will probs buy a copy either way.

Evoke Yo Stoke, Dates From Kates

Posted Monday, July 13, 2009

EVOKETHETEASER from FLAMES YATES on Vimeo.

THE DATES FOR KATES
Evoke The Stoke hype and premiere.

Kates’s new release will premiere on July 25 at the City Diggers Club, Woolongong. Entry is $10 and in a salubrious and salacious move he’s declard that all girls get in for FREE! Giveaways on the night from HB, IAMNONE, Zion and more. Here’s his press release, which conveys the kind of rhyming genius not heard since Big L gave us the immortal lines: “Ran through every bitch in my class, been fucking chicks in the ass, since I was six and a half.”

“Don’t revolt the salt, submit to the pit and slide with pride. Evoke the stoke with Jason Finlay, Jones Russell and James Cakes as they promote the float throughout Europe and Morocco. From the editing team behind FLUX comes the best film since Crave The Cave. Take pride in the tide, kick back in the shack, swarve your carve and prepare to care (Bonus 4 minutes from stoke sponsored by IAM NONE).”

The National Boxer

Posted Monday, July 13, 2009

This is the fourth album from The National and is representative of time spent refining a craft and sound, resulting in an exemplary album. At least six songs on this are worthy of singles. The opener, Fake Empire, is the most different (and will be the first you’ll love) for the piano arrangement while the rest are, on the surface, more or less guitar driven indie songs but raised above the standard by the lyrics and vocals of Matt Berninger. The perfect accompaniment for a frosty winter night and a strong drink.
